The Family at Bear Country U.S.A - Note to self - never wear those shorts again!
The second stop we made was to Bear Country U.S.A. It's right down the road from the Reptile Gardens. Kinda makes me wonder if someday there will be a Beartile park or maybe a Reptear Garden? I digress - anyways we went into the park which is a drive through park in some parts and a walk through in others. It also is pricy but when I saw just exactly how many bears there were I realized that they needed it to feed the things. I lived in Kodiak for Pete's sake and never saw that many bears in one area!

Reindeer - I think!

Mountain Goat
Anyhow, the first thing you see when you drive in is the deer, antelope, reindeer, mountain goat exhibits. Again, guess the first thing I thought upon seeing the HERBIVORES in a carnivorous park? Go ahead guess. Again, filing that under don't think about it! Warning: Beginning of rant! We saw some deer or elk or something and I stopped to take a picture and the guy behind me tried to go around! WE are in a drive through park dude.. You aren't supposed to go very fast and you are supposed to take pictures! Just chill the heck out! Rant over. At any rate, he didn't go around and by the second enclosure it had evidently occurred to him that you actually have to look for the animals.. duh!

What are you looking at?
I should mention before you get to the bears you see cats and wolves. I actually saw the wolf but he was shy about having his picture taken. :(

MMMMM Food
After you get done seeing the free ranging bears, some of which will walk in front of or right beside your car, you get to go to Baby Land for baby bears and some cats, skunks, raccoons etc. I shouldn't mention but I'm going to that I asked Mom what you get a bear who wants to cross the road. She, of course, knew the correct answer.. Anything it wants:)

Kitty cat... lol.. think this was a Lynx.
|
Coyote!

The baby bears were the cutest things! Chasing each other around and rolling in the dirt. Even eating they were cute:) I was sad to have to leave them. I made sure to give big smooches though. Of course, the bear I smooched was only carved but still...
