Crazy Horse

We went to the Crazy Horse monument after the train ride.  We wanted to see the monument (I've never been) and watch the laser light show they do on the side at night.  Gotta say, as much as I love Native American lore, art and lifestyles, this was a letdown to me.  I think I would have felt better had I not watched the introductory video that focused on the life of the sculptor rather than Native American history.  Also felt that it was overkill on asking for donations.  Free enterprise was mentioned repeatedly, but the sculpture is run as a  non-profit - doesn't that defeat the free enterprise thought?  Anyhow - the light show was good, not great but good and the museum had some interesting pieces.  Other than that it was just meh and I felt vaguely cheated about the whole thing.   At least I can say I went I guess..

Still, managed to get some shots there that I liked.  See below.

Recreation of inside of the teepee

Light show before lasers.  My camera just blurred the neon
